Here and There and Everywhere!

It was God who came up with the idea of seeds. In His wisdom, He understood the potential of one seed to multiply over and over again. In our Bible study this week I learned a simple, but valuable expression of how we, as church planters, should think about the potential in one person who is reached or even one small group that is started and even still one church that is planted here or in a another country. The expression goes like this…It’s not how many seeds are in an apple, but how many trees there are in a seed. Looking at church planting this way is crucial to how we pray, how we give, and how we love.
There is no doubt that God has called us to plant a church here, but that’s only scratching the surface of what I believe God has in store for us if we are willing to believe in the potential of the seeds we plant in another country as well. Does this mean we have to be loaded financially to make a real impact…by no means! I think God has given us an abundance of resources that we can tap into to make an immediate impact in other places. Let’s begin to pray that God would make it clear to us where we should turn our attention to as a church so that we can begin to plan and act toward that goal.
Magdy I agree, to think that once we have started a “church service” that somehow we have arrived at our goal, is far from it. One valuable thing I learned from this week’s meeting is that reproducing is only exceptional if transformation happens.
I’m glad to see that there is no limit to what God can do through his people. Its so awesome to know God is faithful especially when its hard to have faith at times.
